The Center for the Protection and Research of Birds (CZIP) is launching a call for artists titled \u201cSea Story \u2013 Starring the Mediterranean Monk Seal\u201d<\/strong>, with the aim of producing three animated short films for children<\/strong> about our endangered marine seal. The purpose of this call is to educate young audiences about the Mediterranean monk seal (Monachus monachus) and promote the protection of this species in an engaging and accessible way.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

ELIGIBILITY<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Who can apply?<\/strong>
Individuals, artistic groups, students, professionals.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Are there any country\/region restrictions?<\/strong>
Applicants from all countries are welcome \u2013 there are no geographical limitations. Final animated films must be dubbed in Montenegrin<\/strong>. An English-subtitled version is encouraged<\/strong>, but not mandatory.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Is prior experience or a portfolio required?<\/strong>
Yes, prior experience in the field of visual arts<\/strong> is required.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

FILM DETAILS<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Budget:<\/strong> \u20ac7,500 (total budget including taxes for all three films)
Duration:<\/strong> Each film should be between 2 and 3 minutes<\/strong> long.
Theme:<\/strong>
The story of the Mediterranean monk seal told across three animated shorts, in a simple and engaging way. The films should focus on the biology of the species<\/strong>, marine habitat protection<\/strong>, challenges the species faces<\/strong>, and ways we can help the monk seal<\/strong>.
Creative interpretation is welcome, and CZIP will be available<\/strong> to support the artist(s) with information about the biology and ecology of the species.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Technique:<\/strong> 2D, stop-motion, mixed media \u2013 free choice.
Usage rights:<\/strong>
The artist retains authorship but grants exclusive usage rights<\/strong> to CZIP. CZIP will allow the author to distribute the films further. All three films must include mandatory project logos<\/strong> provided by CZIP.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

HOW TO APPLY?<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Applicants should submit:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u2013 A short biography
\u2013 A concept\/script idea
\u2013 A storyboard<\/strong> (short visual presentation\/sketches of the concept)
\u2013 Examples of previous work<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Who selects the winners?<\/strong>
CZIP and two independent jury members not affiliated with the organization.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Selection criteria:<\/strong>
Artistic quality, concept originality, feasibility.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Payment terms:<\/strong>
Payment in two installments \u2013 50% upon contract signing, 50% upon completion of the project.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
